Heart flow to Yin with Pranayama

Kelly will start this lesson with a heart opening flow suitable for everyone. The flow will be specifically designed for those struggling with back tension who may spend long hours at their desk. After this, you will feel a sense of space and freedom across the chest and front of the body. We will then slow down with yin yoga poses targeting the lower body; hips and legs. In this style of yoga, you will be invited to hold the poses for up to 5 minutes enabling complete relaxation and bliss. Both the flow and yin complement each other nicely.

Both sections of the class will integrate some pranayama techniques. Pranayama is the sanskrit word for ‘vital life force’ which refers to our breathing system. Many of us are not using our breath correctly and that can have many negative consequences for us.  During the flow the breathing techniques will help you build energy and vitality, and during the yin, it will help to reduce stress and anxiety. The hope is that this way of breathing will become part of your daily life.
