Chair Yoga: Bliss & Wisdom
Join Terri Duan for a Chair Yoga workshop exploring the benefits of Chair Yoga. Chair yoga helps you slowly develop balance and stability - while improving strength and flexibility in a safe and supportive way. Chair yoga helps to build spinal awareness, body strength, and ease tensions in the body and mind. This workshop is for EVERY body. The workshop is designed for all level whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner. All poses aim to open and reach deep from the safety of a chair. The benefits of practicing these chair yoga poses (called asanas) include:
- Improved flexibility. Flexibility allows you to do the activities you need and love to do.
- Better concentration. Incorporating breath work with the poses can help clear your brain of unwanted thoughts, improve your mood and decrease stress.
- Increased strength. Body strength enables you to withstand falls and injury, and helps with balance.
- Reduced joint strain. Chair yoga reduces strain on your joints and muscles. If you are unable to stand for traditional yoga it gives you an opportunity to practice yoga too.
About Terri Duan
Terri is a RYT® 500 certified yoga teacher by Yoga alliance. After qualified as a RYT® 200 Vinyasa teacher (trained with Frog Lotus Yoga in Bali), she went on a further 300 hours study in India for Vinyasa, classic Hatha and meditation. Terri also studied yin yoga with Josh Summer and she is a certified therapist from international therapist council. Terri’s own practice of yoga often combines with TaiQi and Chair yoga. She teaches a few Vinyasa classes at Bindi weekly.
